Proposed Solutions

CIMA International implemented various design enhancements to optimize the project’s performance, such as incorporating a bar screen, constructing a cofferdam, improving the weir foundations, and revising then refining the layout of the access road and line.

CIMA International’s service brings added value by facilitating the transfer of expertise between the Canadian and local project teams, including the client’s experts, and by integrating environmental considerations into the plant’s operational procedures.

Main Obstacles met and Implemented Solutions

The main obstacles encountered during the implementation phase of the project were the following:

  • CIMA International’s hiring and recruitment process occurring a year into the work;
  • communication challenges with a Chinese company;
  • Variations in standards and discrepancies between international and Chinese practices.

Details of the project components and phases are as follows:

  • A reservoir dam;
  • A central spillway with main and secondary rockfill embankments;
  • An operating headquarters complex and facility for the project’s owner; Civil engineering;
  • A 15 MW (3 × 5 MW) power plan; Civil engineering;
  • A 110 kV high-voltage line;
  • A source substation (6.3 kV/110 kV) and interconnection substation (110 kV/30 kV);
  • A 12.4 km access road leading to the project site.

  • A central spillway connected to two embankments (main and secondary) made of rock-filled earth
  • A city of exploitation of the Client; Civil engineering
  • A 15 MW (3x5MW) power plant; Civil Engineering
  • A 110 K HT line
  • A Source Substation (6.3KV/110KV) and interconnection substation to the existing network (110KV/30KV)
  • An access road to the project site over 12.40km
